Love is...shared in 250 languages. . THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes this year. The letters, texts, calls, musical greetings (sisters 😂), surprise treats & messages (in different languages) have meant so much! This is one of my favorite pictures from Paris and perfectly sums up the love I’ve felt this Birthday. . This is the Wall of LOVE in Montmartre (Le mur de je t’aime). Here the words “I love you” is written 311 times in 250 languages and some ancient dialects. In front of this wall is a park and a garden where you can watch people of all ages and types come together to interact, point out each other’s languages on the wall and break down walls between strangers and friends. As I reflect upon this past year around the sun, I am so grateful for the new adventures in coaching, new travel adventures & friends and for the deeper friendships formed. From the depths of my heart, thank you to all of you for another year of love!
L’Amour c’est...Paris. . This love graffiti was one of my favorites found on my walks. I remember that on this day, I found four versions of this artists love graffiti and felt so happy. This art perfectly reflects how I feel about travel and the city. Every time I go to Paris, I think I fall more in love with the city and France and yet, I know there’s still so much more to see and do there. Between writing in cafes, wandering lanes and meeting up with family and meeting new friends, my heart feels full. . Left Paris this morning and landed in the arms of those I love tonight. Was excited to immediately share the fun treats & stories acquired from my travels with my family & furbaby. Travels away also makes me incredibly grateful for the time we have together. In fact, travel has made me realize how precious time really is. . Paris, I know we’ll meet again, until next time, je t’aime! . #inlovestreetart @inlove__streetart
Joy is...spending your last day in Paris wandering as a flâneuse. . Paris was meant to be discovered on foot. There are views, fountains, markets, colorful doors & so many little stories that exist in the corners of this city. For my last day in Paris, I wanted to wander without an agenda and see what I would stumble upon and found another cute little rue with magnificent views of the tower, great bakeries, new cafes and watched local parisians shop the market for their favorite champignons (mushrooms). What is a “flâneuse” you ask? Well she’s the male counterpart of the flâneur, the original French urban explorer. Until recently the term “flâneuse” has become more recognized as the equivalent term for women and I love the definition author Laura Elkin illustrates: “A flâneuse is a determined and resourceful woman keenly attuned to the creative potential of a city and the liberating possibilities of a good walk.” Could not ask for a better way to spend my last day of this trip in Paris. #seemyparis #vivreparis
Joy is...snacking on Kougelhopf on a morning stroll through the streets of Kaysersberg. . Wandering off into the region of Alsace today with my beau frĂŠre & belle soeur. This region to the east of France known for wine (Riesling, Gewurtztraminer & CrĂŠmants), quaint villages & Christmas markets and cozy winters!
Love is...a girls weekend away in Amsterdam. . So grateful for the opportunity to explore a new city with my French cousin. She’s got the biggest heart and while our conversations are often mangled bits of “Franglish” we have so much fun together! She teaches me French, I teach her English and we share a common love for animals, pictures, psychology/coaching, helping others and avocados 😂. We also share a common belief that “rien n'arrive sans raison” (things happen for a reason) and we certainly experienced a bit of that magic this past weekend. On our ride back to Paris, we were both sharing how thankful we were to be able to enjoy this new experience together. Until our next adventure, zie je later Amsterdam!
Joy is...a stroll through the streets of Jordaan. . The old neighborhood of Jordaan & The 9 Streets are incredibly idyllic. Learned the history of why windows are so big, why canals were created and how the industries of Amsterdam came to be. Most assume that Amsterdam is just a city for flagrant indulgence and partying, but we also think that Amsterdam is home to as much culture as any other city.
