“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” – Lao Tzu
For whatever reason you’ve found this page, I want to thank you for reading and wandering into my world.
Before I joined the corporate world, I dreamed of being a journalist. At some point in my life growing up, I was enamored with the idea of hearing other people’s stories and then retelling stories (of people, places & events) and fell in love with the idea that we are all somehow connected with others in the world. As I grew into adult life, real life started to take over and instead of telling other people’s stories, I fell for a career full of storytelling (Marketing) and made a life helping others create and fulfill memories. Like many young millennials, my work started to become my life along with a series of tracks, goals and milestones that paved the road to my ideal future…until I was jolted towards an awakening.
A series of life events forced me to look in the mirror and re-introduce myself to my curiously creative, wanderlust soul. This awakening invited me to go back and embrace a passion for writing and reconnect with the joys in life that made me happy. While this life event was unexpected, this change forced me into “a life I never knew.”
This life has lead me to learn that there is so much joy and love in the everyday wanders we experience. Whether it’s through travel, friendships, nature or relationships, there’s always something to be joyful about that goes far beyond careers and material milestones. And as I’ve continued to experience these joys & wanders, I’ve found that this new life is full of discovery, freedom, love & empowerment.
So here’s a little more about me:
I Love: My family, friends, faith, love, my dog, yoga, strong coffee, wine, whiskey, travel and design.
My Faults: Hopeless romantic (can’t help it), fear of failure & (sometimes) impractical optimism.
Current Fears: Spiders, fake cheese, karaoke and a life void of inspiration (some fears not rational, I know).
My Kryptonite: Sleeping puppies, stargazing, European/ANZ/Southern/Latin/European accents & black coffee.
My Favorite Quote of the Moment: “If we long for our planet to be important, there is something we can do about it. We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depth of our answers.” – Carl Sagan
My Purpose: To spread joy, love and connect fully with the others through empowerment, travel & inspiration.
So, as a result, this blog has become an outlet for me to share the “Joys”, “Love” and “Wanders” that I’ve encountered as I’ve grown and I’m hoping that others will find the Joys in their wanders too.
With Joy, Love & Wanders,
